Live in Purpose

Who am I?

In 2012, I departed from the elementary school I was working at, packed all of my belongings from mother’s house and moved to Hollywood with the intention of becoming a Star. Two years into that transition, I decided to move to Kansas City with my aunt for the Summer to save money to join the Screen Actors Guild. When that journey came to a close, I decided to stay in Kansas City, move into a place of my own to live a regular nine-to-five lifestyle to see what I can make of a more realistic future. I spent three years developing my work resume, domestic skills, and exploring the woman that I am capable of becoming . .

Needless to say, as someone who dreamed of being an actress, a nine-to-five lifestyle didn’t fulfill my desire to do something “bigger” so once again, like Carmen from the Hip-Hopera, resigned from my job, sold my furniture for little to nothing, and packed all of the belongings that could fit into my 2005 Blue Chevy Cobalt to get on the road to Hollywood. I made it back to my home, California, July eighth twenty seventeen to set out to discover my purpose.

It’s been interesting to me how after one year of being “home”, I feel without one. Still, left to question, “Who am I”? And is who I am contingent upon my education, career, skills, and talent?

But, what if who I am is simply in who-I-am, not who I am trying to be. What if I simply develop what is pure and authentic to me and my desires? Yea, that felt good; I meditated on that thought . . .

It was July 8, 2018 when I was sitting in my favorite seat, observing and listening to a word on “giving” when I heard, “Your purpose is the answer to your problem. To understand the purpose, you must first understand the problem. Your purpose is God’s intent to flow through you, like a Dance, according to the personality He gave you.” – Apostle Eric Morrison

•Exactly one year later, after I went West, on the road to discover my Purpose, I was sitting before my Pastor, when I heard those words •

God is strategic and intentional when guiding us on our path. I believe that to be so. I look at my journey and I have a wider view that goes beyond the struggle, pain, humility, confusion, embarrassment and failures that I face.

I started Joy N Mee with the intention to “Hide, No More” “Let Me Be” ,“Evolve” with every moment, “Discover Who I Am“, show my “Loyalty” to do just that, and face every obstacle like a special crystal – “Black Obsidian“, to live a life of “Honesty” while also “Sitting Still” and listening to God, to pull from the “Love” that has always and will always forever exist abundantly “Within Me” and all of you.

Now, I will continue on my mission to do what fuels me. That is, be woman, powerfully, walking and living in purpose – you can be assured that you will see this in my lifestyle and I’ll stay tapped into my creativity by continuing to express thoughts, desires of the heart and lessons learned through poetry and short stories.

“Purpose is meditated and contemplated and thought about and decided to live this way; purpose is manifested into your lifestyle” – Apostle Eric Morrison
